Deventer

Deventer, beautiful Hanseatic city on the IJssel. Not quite located in Gelderland, but considering the short distance from our location a visit is more than worth it!

A lively city with a monumental atmosphere where you can find everything. Soak up the cultural history in Hanseatic city Deventer. Climb the tower of the Lebuineskerk, taste the Deventer Koek, visit one of the nine museums or visit one of the other sights in the city.

Deventer has many historical sights such as the Proosdij, the oldest stone house in the Netherlands (twelfth century!). All around you see monumental buildings with special facade stones, historical churches and centuries-old squares. With the Lebuinuskerk as a proud figurehead, which you can see from far away.

There is something to do in Deventer every month. The biggest crowd pullers are the annual book market, Deventer on stilts and the Dickens Festival.
